Exciting Revamp Coming to Plymouth in 2024

Great news everyone, Plymouth is getting a fresh look! The city officials of Plymouth have rolled up their sleeves and are ready to give the Old Village area a major facelift in 2024. They are not just declaring it, but planning big and meaningful changes that will greatly benefit everyone.

The Downtown Development Authority of Plymouth is taking matters into their own hands and updating their Five-Year Action Plan. They are kicking off this massive project in April with public planning sessions. Your thoughts and ideas matter, so don’t miss these sessions!

Up until now, Plymouth had been focusing on bettering things like parking and pedestrian safety, upgrading Kellogg Park, and supporting local businesses. But for this year, the city’s got an exciting to-do list which includes revamping the Old Village area. This means smoother roads, safer pedestrian crossings, and an improved water system, just to name a few.

In Old Village, the city is bringing in new life with the help of two existing restaurants that are in the process of being renovated. The former Station 885 and Honey Hole are both under refurbishment by local entrepreneurs and will soon serve as high-end restaurants. Much anticipated and excited development that will add a cherry on top to this town’s charm.

For the Old Village, this isn’t something new. Their adaptive reuse strategy has recently added a new business in what used to be a condemned building. Through funding from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, it has been brought back to life. So, the whole area of Old Village is going to be buzzing with activity and fresh energy.

It won’t just be street improvements or fancy restaurants, the city has decided to dish out a whopping $1,000,000 for updating its railroad crossings. Big moves are in play, making Plymouth not just safe, but also pleasing to the eye, and convenient to live in.

Of course, we all are curious about the progress of these plans. This information will be shared every second Monday of the month at Plymouth City Hall in the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority meetings. So, make sure you stay informed and keep an eye on the updates.

The face of Plymouth is changing, and boy is it exciting! Can’t wait to see the transformation!
