Heads up, folks in Plymouth-Canton, the end of summer is ticking closer and that means it’s nearly time to get back to school. Yep, for students at Plymouth-Canton Community Schools District, the first day of classes is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3. So pack up your beach towels and sunscreen and get those backpacks ready!
The schedule for school days looks like this:
- Elementary school: Start the day at 8:55 a.m. and wrap up by 4:01 p.m.
- Middle school: Students will begin their day at 8:15 a.m. and finish at 3:09 p.m.
- High schoolers (P-CEP): Buckle up for an early start at 7:25 a.m., ending at 2:21 p.m.
- Starkweather: School starts at 9 a.m., ending at 2:25 p.m.
There are a bunch of important dates in the 2024-25 school year to mark on your calendars. So let’s get into it:
- Start date: Tuesday, Sept. 3. Breathe in that new school year air!
- Family-teacher conferences: Schedule some quality time with the teachers on Nov. 13-14.
- Professional development days (no school): This year, they’re lined up for Oct. 9, Nov. 5, and Mar. 5.
- Election Day: A day off school on Tuesday, Nov. 5, also don’t forget to vote!
- Thanksgiving break: Enjoy your turkey and stuffing from Nov. 27-29.
- First semester tests (grades 9-12): You’ve got this! Tests are scheduled for Jan. 15-17.
- Winter break: Chill out from Dec. 23-Jan. 3.
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day: No school to observe MLK day on Monday, Jan. 20.
- Presidents Day week (no school): A break from Feb. 17-21.
- Spring break: Say hello to warm weather again from Mar. 24-28.
- Second semester tests (grades 9-12): The final challenge starts on June 9.
- Last day of school: Say hello to summer between June 9-11, depending on your grade level.
