Third Annual Taco Fest Returns to Novi!
Hey, taco lovers! Round up your sombreros and enthusiasm because the three-day Taco Fest in Novi is the place to hang out this weekend. It’s got your name all over it with delicious food, live entertainment, and exciting competitions!
Starting on Friday at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, directly opposite Twelve Oaks Mall, the festival is ready to serve up a storm for the third consecutive year. Falling head over heels with the sizzle and spice of tacos are an expected crowd of 25,000 people. Ready to tantalize your taste buds are 35 taco trucks alongside a host of other food and retail vendors serving a delectable choice of international and local flavors.
Apart from the tempting taco treats, there’s plenty of action and fun lined up. The fest features a variety of contests like taco-eating, hot pepper-eating, and even cute dog contests. So, if you think you’ve got the stomach for a hot pepper challenge or can devour tacos at high speed, this is your chance to shine!
One happy visitor, a recent victor in the taco-eating contest, regarded it as easily achievable. He said, “I knew I could eat tacos faster than anyone else here.” Another pleased guest enjoyed the festival’s diverse array of food – so much so that she came back for more African-Caribbean delights.
The festival has not only created a buzz among the foodies but also become an annual event that everyone eagerly anticipates. Started as an art fair three years ago, it has quickly grown, receiving a warm stamp of approval from the crowd and the local mall.
The fest is orchestrated by the hardworking staff of the Art As Healing Foundation. Their executive director happily shared that everyone on the west side of metro Detroit benefits from the festival, and preparations for next year’s Taco Fest will begin as early as January.
