Find New Chick-fil-A Locations in These Michigan Cities
Fast-food heavyweight, Chick-fil-A, unveiled imminent plans to expand operations drastically in Michigan on Wednesday. The Southern pride franchise aims to create a two-fold boost in its presence throughout the state, incorporating over 25 additional restaurants by 2028’s close.
Newly Announced Location Details
These planned locations, inclusive of four independently owned and controlled restaurants in Chesterfield Township, Roseville, Taylor and Fort Gratiot, are on the books for setting up shop in the coming fall and winter. This surge will also feature a licensed site in downtown Detroit in the First National Building. Other independently owned Chick-fil-A chains are headed for Auburn Hills, Lincoln Park, Orion Township, Clinton Township, Canton, and Ann Arbor.
The anticipated establishment of these franchises intends to catalyze over 2,500 job creations all across Michigan. Each restaurant will require 80 to 120 full and part-time employees, stimulating the local economy and offering wholesome meals. The company, furthermore, is on the lookout for franchise candidates within the community.
Previous Chick-fil-A Establishments in Michigan
Since 2015, Chick-fil-A has been spreading its famed hospitality and irresistible food flavors across Michigan. The company currently operates 28 restaurants state-wide, winning hearts with their menu and spirited service. By 2025, two restaurants are due to open doors in the Lansing/Jackson area, one in the Flint/Saginaw area, and one in Benton Harbor.
The Future
The decision to further saturation in Michigan was a direct response to the state’s diverse assortment of rural, suburban, and city neighborhoods, paired with its proud, close-knit communities. As Scott Mayson, Area Director for the Midwest region, sagely put it, “When we were exploring new territories for expansion, the opportunity to serve the Michigan community, support its economy, and integrate ourselves into its vibrant culture was an easy next step.”
Chick-fil-A’s Unique Franchise Model
One distinctive feature of Chick-fil-A’s business model is that a single individual usually owns and operates most of their restaurants. Far from being mere investors, these owner-operators are typically local business owners fully involved in the daily operations of their restaurants. Compared to other fast-food chains, this unique approach has set Chick-fil-A apart, allowing the restaurant to provide its signature hospitality and freshly-prepared food on an impressive scale.
The Company at a Glance
Starting from humble beginnings in 1967 by founder S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has blossomed into the third largest quick-service restaurant company in the United States. Boasting over 200,000 employees, the company thrives in its more than 3,000 restaurants spread across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. The family-owned private entity recently shared its ambitious expansion plans into Europe and Asia by the end of 2030.
