Barrett’s Haunted Mansion Set to Open for 33rd Season on September 20

Abington, Massachusetts – Barrett’s Haunted Mansion, now in its 33rd year, is set to open its doors to thrill-seekers from across New England starting Friday, September 20, 2024. Located at 1235 Bedford Street, the seasonal attraction has become a regional staple, offering visitors immersive horror experiences designed to challenge their wits and endurance.

This year’s theme, titled “The Game Master,” introduces a fictional kidnapper known for subjecting victims to dangerous psychological and physical trials. The attraction features live actors from more than 40 local groups, including youth organizations and non-profits, who interact directly with guests throughout the haunted mansion.

In addition to the main house, Barrett’s Haunted Mansion will also offer an outdoor experience, “Condemned.” Set in a post-apocalyptic scene where a toxic gas leak has altered survivors’ appearances and mental states, guests will navigate through a maze of infected characters referred to as “Coulro-Sapiens.”

The mansion will be open on select dates through November 2. General admission tickets, which provide access to both the mansion and the “Condemned” attraction, are priced at $40. VIP (“RIP”) tickets are available for $65, offering visitors expedited access to the attractions. Group discounts are also available. Tickets can be purchased on-site starting at 6 p.m. on weekends and 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, with the mansion opening at 7 p.m. each night.

Barrett’s Haunted Mansion also offers a special “Bite and Fright” package, available on Sundays and Thursdays in October. For $55, visitors receive dinner at the Abington Ale House, as well as tickets to both attractions. Tickets for this package must be purchased in person and used the same evening.

Barrett’s Haunted Mansion has a history of changing its theme each year, with previous years featuring clowns and twisted versions of popular tales like “Alice in Wonderland.” While the mansion is known for its intense scares, it is not recommended for children under 13, pregnant women, or individuals sensitive to flashing lights. However, guests can exit the attraction at any point if the experience becomes overwhelming.

For more information, potential visitors can contact the mansion at 781-871-4573 or by email at BarrettsHauntedMansion@gmail.com.
