In a surprise move, Buca di Beppo has said goodbye to Michigan after closing its doors recently in both Livonia and Utica. Known for their comforting family-style servings of lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, and fettuccine alfredo, the restaurant is no longer serving up any of its flavorful Italian cuisine in the area.
The chain has removed all Michigan locations from their online listings. Google also lists these addresses as ‘permanently closed’. Shoppers might remember the Livonia outlet situated ubiquitously at 38888 6 Mile Road sitting between Interstate 275 and Haggerty Road.
A touching goodbye note from Buca di Beppo read, “After being part of this community for 25 years, regrettably, Buca di Beppo in Livonia has closed. We thank our customers for their loyalty — it was our privilege to be the backdrop for countless gatherings and celebrations over the past two decades.” Heartfelt comments flooded social networking platforms as the community reminisced about the Livonia restaurant’s 25-year history.
The Bing Street branch in Utica seems to have bid adieu last June. Callers to the store heard a prerecorded message stating the permanent closure. The city authorities have since notified restaurant owners about removing the store’s sign per city ordinances.
Buca di Beppo falls under a Florida-based enterprise that hosts a bunch of restaurants, including Bravo Italian Kitchen, Planet Hollywood, and Chicken Guy. The reason for this abrupt closure of the Michigan-based Buca di Beppo restaurants remains undisclosed.
