Plymouth residents, get ready to indulge your senses; Chicane Restaurant and Entertainment Venue has officially opened its doors this week! After a successful series of soft opening events throughout January, this new establishment is now welcoming guests to experience a delightful fusion of dining and entertainment in the heart of Plymouth’s historic Old Village.
You might recognize the location at 885 Starkweather Street, as it has been home to several businesses over the years, including a laundromat, a pizza parlor, and even Station 885, which served the community for over three decades. The beloved site even briefly housed Stella’s Trackside. With Chicane stepping in, the building is receiving a fresh lease on life while preserving its historic value—exactly what the community needs!
The transformation into Chicane honors the building’s past while introducing modern amenities that promise a vibrant atmosphere. Developer and longtime Plymouth resident Don Soenen has poured nearly three years of hard work into designing this exciting venue, collaborating with specialists in hospitality and culinary arts. The aim? To create a place that feels like an “ode to the traditional supper club”.
Chicane sets itself apart with its steakhouse-style menu, focusing on classic American favorites including wood-grilled steaks, tasty chops, and fresh seafood. For those craving something lighter, the venue also proudly serves up delicious fresh pasta dishes. And let’s not forget about the extensive cocktail selection to sip on while you enjoy the lively entertainment.
Speaking of entertainment, Chicane is ramping up the fun with nightly performances from Tuesday through Saturday, showcasing a variety of musical formats that cater to different tastes. This exciting entertainment lineup is sure to keep the local community buzzing!
Chicane boasts an impressive 10,000 square feet of space dedicated to enjoyable dining and entertainment. For those planning a special event, the venue has got you covered! The main event space, known as Apex, can accommodate up to 120 guests, while the outdoor patio, called Circuit, is perfect for intimate gatherings with approximately 30 guests. Need more space? The cozy patio can be combined with the main room for larger events like weddings, parties, or business gatherings.
Plans for Chicane also include exciting features like a designated bar, a performance platform, and even expanded event space to accommodate various functions.
Keeping the neighborhood’s unique charm in mind, the building will undergo several modifications, including preserving essential structural elements as parts are removed or updated. Adding to the transformation is the planned 500-square-foot dining room at the front and a 745-square-foot event space at the back, not to mention two walk-in coolers to support the kitchen’s culinary needs.
Some proposals for the venue also include encapsulating the front outdoor seating area while constructing a new outdoor space at the rear. However, it’s important to note that the project will require formal approval through a public hearing before any construction begins.
