Celebrating Catherine H. Monteith: A Life Rich in Love and Joy

Catherine H. Monteith peacefully passed away on December 1, 2024, at the warm age of 72, surrounded by the love of her family at home. Born on July 22, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Catherine was raised by Robert and Elizabeth Dooley. She completed her education at Bishop Borgess High School, where she graduated in the Class of 1970.

Her life took a joyful turn when she married John Lee Monteith on August 31, 1991, and together, they shared many wonderful years. Her culinary journey began in the kitchen of St. John’s Seminary in Plymouth, later guiding her to work at Meijer’s. After John retired, they moved to Gould City, where she embraced a managerial role at Michihistrigan before finding her happiness as a cook at Dreamland.

Catherine had a passion for the great outdoors, spending her free time biking and walking beneath the sun, which brought her immense joy. A devoted mother, she is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a close-knit community of friends and neighbors who have supported her through her life’s journey. A Celebration of Life is planned for spring/summer 2025, organized with love by Fausett Family Funeral Homes.
