Plymouth is all set to welcome its community and visitors for the much-anticipated Fall Festival, happening from September 6 to 8. This annual event has become a cherished tradition, bringing joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness to the heart of downtown Plymouth. With the festival now in its 68th season, excitement is building for a weekend filled with carnival rides, tasty food, lively entertainment, and various activities that cater to all ages.
Last year’s festival set a remarkable record, with around 85,000 visitors on the Saturday alone. Festival President Andera Gerber expressed her enthusiasm in a recent letter, highlighting the event’s success and the positive impact it has on local nonprofits that rely on the festival as a significant fundraiser. She mentioned, “It was the busiest day in the city. We had our very best year last year.” The expectation this year is equally high, as the community looks forward to another fantastic celebration.
The festivities kick off with carnival rides opening at 3 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For those who love the thrilling experience of whirling and twirling rides, a variety of options will be available. Families can purchase ticket packages or opt for the popular $30 ride wristbands, which will be available on Sunday. Whether it’s the Ferris wheel, spinning teacups, or exhilarating roller coasters, there’s something for everyone looking for a bit of adventure.
No festival is complete without delicious food, and this year’s Fall Festival has plenty to offer. Starting on Saturday, September 7, attendees can enjoy the traditional Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon. Located at The Gathering, across from Kellogg Park, this breakfast includes fluffy pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and coffee or milk. Tickets are priced at $7 in advance or $8 at the door, with kids aged 5 and under eating for free.
Then, on Sunday, September 8, the Rotary Club Chicken BBQ will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or until sold out) in Kellogg Park. This popular dinner features a delicious spread of half-chicken, corn-on-the-cob, a roll with butter, bottled water, and a cookie. Presale tickets are $17, while tickets purchased at the door will cost $20. It’s a perfect treat for anyone looking to enjoy a hearty meal.
In addition to the rides and mouthwatering food, the Fall Festival will feature a complete lineup of exciting entertainment throughout the weekend. Visitors can look forward to a variety of performances, a car show, a craft show, and even a pet show. With numerous vendors setting up shop, there will be plenty of opportunities to browse unique crafts and products while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
