It was found that traffic on the right lane of northbound I-275 had come to a halt when a 71-year-old man from Howell, who was behind the wheel of a semi-truck, wasn’t able to stop in time. Unfortunately, he rear-ended another semi-truck, which caused a chain reaction. This second semi was propelled into a passenger car that was subsequently pushed into a van. Another semi attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but ended up sideswiping the second truck.

Due to the nature of the accident, both the at-fault driver and the driver of the passenger car sustained injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, the van’s occupants did not report any injuries. However, the delay created by this situation has left many commuters frustrated and scrambling for alternatives.
