Michigan Jazz Festival Celebrates All Faith Day in Lansing’s Old Town

LANSING, Mich. – Booming sounds of gospel tunes reverberated through Lansing’s Old Town this Sunday, marking the first year the Michigan Jazz Festival celebrated an All Faith Day. The event drew in scores of individuals who spent their time taking in the harmonious sounds of numerous acclaimed gospel artists, as well as exploring offerings from Faith-centered vendors.

“A lot of music has its roots firmly planted in the church, and gospel music is unique in the sense that it beautifully brings together various types of music,” said Pastor Anthony Taylor, adding that it’s not uncommon to hear a blend of classical, jazz, and blues in gospel music, since they all have origins in the church. Taylor gleefully confirmed that All Faith Day will continue to make an appearance in future Jazz festivals, providing a spiritually uplifting conclusion to the event.
