Northville to Open New Donut Shop ‘Peace, Love and Little Donuts’ This November

Northville Set to Welcome Peace, Love & Little Donuts

In the heart of Northville, residents can soon look forward to a delightful new addition to the downtown scene. Peace, Love and Little Donuts is set to open its doors later this year, bringing with it a tempting selection of mini-doughnuts and coffee.

Located at 345 E. Cady St., the shop will take over the space previously occupied by Mithai and Chai. The owners, Kathy and Frank Isgro, are gearing up for a grand opening expected sometime in November. They are excited to share their passion for donuts with their community after discovering the brand during a vacation.

Satisfying Sweets and Fun Flavors

Known for their signature mini-doughnuts, Peace, Love and Little Donuts offers an impressive lineup of flavors. From the classic cinnamon sugar-coated “Groovy,” chocolate-glazed “Far-Out,” to the unique maple bacon “Funkadelic” topped with crispy bacon, there’s something for everyone. Other flavors include salted caramel macchiato, strawberry shortcake, s’mores, Boston cream pie, and more. The variety promises to cater to both traditional and adventurous palates.

Kathy Isgro shared that their journey with the brand began when their kids expressed a desire to have these mini-doughnuts at their graduation parties. “Our guests just went crazy for them,” Isgro remarked, highlighting the family’s enthusiasm for the tasty treats. This love for the donuts sparked the idea of bringing a location to Northville, and after much searching for the right place, they found it.

Fresh Doughnuts Made to Order

One of the highlights of Peace, Love and Little Donuts is that customers will be able to watch the doughnut-making process. Kathy describes it as “food theater,” stating that the shop will not follow the usual routine where donuts are made early in the morning and sold out by midday. Instead, the skilled doughnut maker will prepare fresh donuts continuously throughout the day. “You can have fresh doughnuts all day,” she added.

In addition to the delicious donuts, the menu will also feature a range of coffee drinks and fresh-squeezed orange juice, making it a perfect stop for a morning treat or an afternoon snack.

A Dream Come True for Local Residents

Kathy, who brings in experience from her previous career in finance and project management, is particularly thrilled about becoming part of the downtown Northville business community. The Isgro family has deep roots in the area, having raised their children in Northville, which makes this venture even more special for them.

“When we stumbled on this concept, we thought it would complement our downtown, especially with the up-and-coming Northville Downs project,” Kathy said. “We think this will fit in well.”

A Growing Franchise with Local Charm

Peace, Love and Little Donuts first opened in Pittsburgh in 2009 and began franchising in 2016. The franchise has since expanded and now includes locations in 11 states, with other Michigan shops in Ann Arbor, Traverse City, and Portage. A new shop is also set to open soon in Rochester Hills.

While a specific opening date for the Northville location is still pending, the Isgro family is hard at work completing renovations and obtaining permits necessary for the business. Residents visiting the new doughnut shop can look out for regular updates on social media, including Facebook and Instagram under the handle @plldnorthville.

As Northville prepares to welcome Peace, Love and Little Donuts, it seems clear that the vibrant downtown area is poised for an even sweeter future.
