Northville Prepares for Night Adventure Led by Creatures of the Night

For the nocturnal creatures and curious wanderers, a unique opportunity beckons right in the heart of Northville, Michigan. The city’s treasured Maybury State Park offers an exclusive invitation to join an evening outdoor escapade which is promised to be a memorable encounter with the creature of the night – the bat!

Set amidst nearly 1,000 acres of diverse landscapes remarkable for its gently rolling terrain, open meadow and mature forest, the park is hosting a bat hike on the evening of August 22. The exciting two-hour adventure, set to kick off at 7:30 p.m., is a part of the Outdoor Adventure Center’s series of offering more ways for nature enthusiasts to explore the outdoor.

Participants will not only get a chance to delve into the mystique of night-time in the wild but also gain a deeper understanding about bats – their intriguing biology, diverse habitats and crucial role in sustaining the ecosystem. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

And, you don’t need to worry about the entry! All that’s required is a Recreation Passport, and you are in for a great night outdoor. Participation is free, but it does require early registration in order to help prepare for the event. So, make sure you book your spot by August 14, as registration closes at 11 p.m. that day.

This one-of-a-kind program has been designed keeping in mind attendees aged 8 and above. Remember to come prepared for a bout of outdoor fun on uneven and natural trails. The event is weather-dependent; unless Mother Nature decides to play spoilsport, the gears are set for the hike!

The Outdoor Adventure Center, located in the historic Globe Building, has taken upon itself the initiative of bringing the best of nature, right downtown. So, grab your gear and get ready to listen to the thrilling sounds of nocturnal wildlife and soak in the enchanting beauty of Maybury State Park under the moon.
