Exciting New Dining Spot in Plymouth: The Ledger

Plymouth Welcomes a New Dining Hotspot: The Ledger

Introducing the latest addition to Plymouth’s dining scene, The Ledger. This swanky neighborhood diner has quickly turned into a popular spot, flaunting its elegant, modern decor, grand ceilings, and a menu that harmoniously blends tradition and innovation.

The Ledger’s menu is a unique concoction of classic steakhouse dishes like filet mignon, appetizing bone marrow, bourbon-maple roasted carrots, and refreshing bib lettuce salads. But wait, there’s more. They’ve also added some global twists to the menu. Highlights include a harissa lamb pierogi, strawberry-infused Aperol spritz cocktail, and some surprisingly delightful Brussels sprouts with a hint of Japanese flavor. But the showstopper is a beef tallow candle that is lit at your table and melts into a fan of tasty sliced, herbed focaccia.

This up-to-the-minute eatery was launched back in February, replacing Greek Islands Eatery – a family diner that fell a tad bit short on excitement. Despite the transition, The Ledger has gone above and beyond to create an ambiance that ideally matches its owner’s other venture, the 4-year-old, speakeasy-style lounge, Ebenezer.

Beyond the inviting ambiance, there’s more to love about The Ledger. This spot is strategically located in a neighborhood bustling with activity. You can enjoy a movie at the Penn Theatre or take a long walk in the Kellogg Park. It’s an ultimate destination for a splendid date night or to celebrate a special occasion.

Apart from an exquisite menu and charismatic location, the staff at The Ledger is dedicated to providing exceptional service. They ensure your table is always stacked with food, and water glasses are never empty. They’re also open to special requests, contributing to a memorable dining experience.

One dish that received high praise was the Alaskan halibut. The skillfully pan-seared filet was savory, served on a bed of creamy spring pea risotto. Another highlight on the menu was the Brussels sprouts. Served as a salad, it had an exciting mix of katsu crumb, pickled ginger and red onion, but it’s the Japanese mayo and an additional hit from chili crunch that sets it apart.

The restaurant’s cocktail list is as visually appealing as it is delicious. With a range of visually stunning cocktails, the restaurant has managed to create an unforgettable drinking experience. Their Hot Girl Summer cocktail has become quite a crowd favorite; it’s a strawberry-flavored Aperol spritz with a twist of elderflower tonic and rose water.

The Ledger’s dessert list, curated by pastry chef Adam Grimm, is equally impressive. The star of the show is an Alaskan car bomb – a delightful blend of a baked Alaska and an Irish cocktail. This incredibly shareable dessert consists of a dome of charred Italian meringue, a dense Guinness brownie and Bailey’s Ice cream, all drizzled with a Jameson whiskey-infused caramel.

If you’re in the mood for some steak, the prime ribeye is definitely worth trying. Served with a zip sauce, its beefy flavor is simply irresistible. They also serve a 24-ounce prime porterhouse, and for those looking to splurge, an 80-ounce, double bone-in tomahawk steak.

The Ledger has easily secured its place as a favorite among the locals, promising a fine dining experience that’s relaxing, enjoyable, and above all, memorable. This chic spot serves from 4 to 10 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. from Friday to Saturday, and 3 to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
