Heads up, Plymouth! Pump up your Independence Day spirits as the exciting Good Morning USA Parade hits Main Street this Thursday at 9 a.m. As always, the parade promises to be a treat for everyone, teeming with fan-favorite traditions and some brand-new additions!
You wouldn’t want to miss a second of the parade, which starts just south of Main Street’s railroad tracks near Bode’s, and ends at Hartsough Street by Dairy-Go-Round. Just so you know, Main Street will be closed along the parade route but don’t fret about not getting a front-row view, you can still assemble along the sidewalks before the parade starts.
Oh, and don’t trouble yourself with parking, there are public parking lots available in the downtown area and on side streets.
Now the part that we’re all eagerly waiting for – the parade features. This year, we’re in for a treat with a 25-foot Uncle Sam Balloon, four carnival acts, riveting performances by five bands, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Mounted Division, and even hula dancers showing off their exotic moves!
But that’s not it, some of our all-time favorites will also grace the parade. We’re talking about the Michigan Wheelman zipping through on their antique bikes, jolly old Santa Claus, some truly cool vintage cars, and a high-tech robot from our local high schools’ Robotics Team!
And here’s the best part – this year, the parade is also going to honor our great veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, as well as members of the VFW. So, let’s do our bit and honor them too! If you see them along the parade route, do not shy off, give them your loudest applause, raise your signs thanking them for their service, and show our heroes the respect they deserve.
So, Plymouth, are we ready to have some Fourth of July fun? See you at the parade!
