Canton has officially added a new gem to its culinary repertoire with the much-anticipated grand opening of Raising Cane’s on Tuesday, February 4. Located at 44218 Ford Road, this fast-casual restaurant is creating quite the buzz, especially known for its delicious chicken finger combo meals that are loved by many!
In typical grand opening fashion, the atmosphere was electric as dozens of eager customers lined up early, despite chilling temperatures. Some fans were so excited they camped out overnight! The twin brothers, Henry and Joshua Cox, kicked off the festivities by arriving at 7 p.m. the night before and patiently waiting a whopping 14 hours in anticipation of their first taste of those famous chicken fingers.
By the time the doors opened at 10 a.m., more than 100 hungry folks had gathered, eager to be among the first to experience Raising Cane’s offerings. It was a warm and energetic scene filled with chatter, laughter, and the scent of fried food wafting in the air.
The excitement continued with a fantastic lineup of giveaways for those in line. Customers were eligible for a special drawing for “free Cane’s for a year” — an opportunity that had many eyes lit up with excitement. Additionally, the first 100 customers who made a purchase of a Cane’s Combo received a super stylish custom beanie and a free Box Combo card!
To add a cherry on top of this already thrilling event, the iconic punter for the Detroit Lions, Jack Fox, made an appearance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Serving the very first Drive-Thru customer, Fox didn’t just stop there; he generously accepted a $2,500 donation for the Kirk Gibson Foundation. Being a fan favorite, he took a moment to sign autographs for those eager fans who couldn’t get enough of their football hero!
It’s worth noting that Raising Cane’s has a rich history, having been founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Its slogan, “One Love,” emphasizes its commitment to serving up the best chicken fingers around. The new Canton location marks the second Raising Cane’s restaurant in Michigan, following the successful opening near Michigan State’s campus in East Lansing. With plans to expand further into Ann Arbor, Grandville, and Sterling Heights, the Michigan chicken finger craze is just getting started!
So, what can customers look forward to on the menu? Expect to find hand-battered chicken fingers, their renowned Cane’s sauce, crinkle-cut fries, Cane’s toast, and coleslaw. With prices ranging from $9.89 to $16.59, hungry patrons can opt for three, four, or six chicken fingers based on their appetite!
For those itching to visit, Raising Cane’s in Canton operates daily from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., ensuring that late-night cravings can be satisfied at any hour.
Walking into the restaurant, the decor tells its own story with local high school memorabilia and a charming pennant from Willow Run Airport. It’s clear that Raising Cane’s is embracing the local culture and community, all while serving up fan-favorite meals.
As the crowds grew and excitement surged, the Canton Police helped to direct traffic near the restaurant to manage the influx of visitors. It was a beautiful scene of community engagement that highlighted how much Raising Cane’s has already captured the hearts of many locals.
As the dust settles and the initial rush subsides, one thing is clear: Raising Cane’s has officially made its mark in Canton, leaving everyone eagerly awaiting their next visit!
