This new 6,100 square foot store will include eight fueling islands, high-flow diesel for trucks, and a range of dining options. With plans to expand further throughout the Metro Detroit area, Sheetz is expected to create 30-35 job opportunities at this location, bolstering community support amidst mixed feelings in other regions. The arrival of Sheetz promises to enhance convenience for both locals and travelers.
Exciting news is on the horizon for Sheetz fans in Chesterfield Township! The popular convenience store chain has officially kicked off construction for its second location in Michigan. Located at 23 Mile Road, just east of Interstate 94, this new spot is set to become a hub for both locals and travelers alike by late summer or early fall of 2025.
Stretching across a generous 6,100 square feet, this store is gearing up to offer a multitude of amenities for its customers. With eight fueling islands ready to accommodate vehicles, it’s perfect for those on the go! Residents will be especially thrilled to know that this location will be the only Sheetz in Michigan to provide high-flow diesel fueling specifically designed for trucks.
Many have been anticipating the arrival of Sheetz in Chesterfield Township ever since the company opened its very first Michigan outlet back in August 2024 in nearby Romulus. That grand opening turned out to be a smashing success, attracting hundreds of eager guests who welcomed the chain to the Great Lakes State with open arms. As a result, it’s clear that Chesterfield Township residents are in for a treat!
But Chesterfield Township is just the tip of the iceberg for Sheetz’s grand plans in Michigan! The company is eyeing more than a dozen additional stores across the Metro Detroit area. Construction for these locations is set to begin this year and will continue through 2026. In fact, Sheetz hopes to establish a total of 50-60 locations in southeast Michigan over the next five to six years!
If you’re looking for work, you might want to keep an eye on this new location as it will require 30-35 employees, mostly on a full-time basis. With numerous job opportunities opening up, it could be a perfect chance for those in the community to join the Sheetz family.
One of the standout features of any Sheetz store is its commitment to providing not just snacks, but a full dining experience. This Chesterfield Township location will offer both indoor and outdoor seating, along with a convenient drive-thru option for ordering made-to-order food and drinks. Customers can look forward to customizing their meals and beverages from Sheetz’s award-winning menu, ensuring each visit is as exciting as the last!
While the positive vibes are strong, Sheetz has faced some challenges, particularly in communities like Livonia and Farmington Hills, where residents have voiced mixed feelings about the influx of new locations. Nevertheless, the support from Detroit residents for Sheetz has been undeniable, hinting that a majority are eagerly awaiting the convenience and offerings the chain promises to bring.
To facilitate this ambitious expansion plan, Sheetz is also investing in a 500,000-square-foot distribution facility located in Findlay, Ohio. This new facility aims to support the chain’s operations and expansions in both Ohio and Michigan and is expected to create over 700 jobs in the process!
With locations sprouting up in several states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and now Michigan, Sheetz continues to march forward, establishing itself as a go-to spot for convenience and quality.
As Chesterfield Township gears up for the arrival of its new Sheetz, local residents can look forward to easy access to fueling stations, delicious food options, and a whole lot more coming their way. It looks like life in Chesterfield Township is about to get a little more exciting!
