Secretly Group is on the Hunt for a New Social Media Manager!

Have you heard the exciting news from the world of music? Secretly Group, a powerhouse in the independent music industry since 1996, is looking to fill a crucial role in their team. They’re on the lookout for a Manager of Social Media & Creator Marketing to join their ranks in one of their vibrant locations: Brooklyn, New York, Los Angeles, California, or Bloomington, Indiana.

What’s the Buzz About Secretly Group?

Secretly Group is not just any music company. With a stellar roster that includes notable artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Mitski, and Khruangbin, they have carved out a significant niche in the music scene. The company consists of various record labels including Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Saddest Factory Records, and Secretly Canadian. They also operate a music publishing arm known as Secretly Publishing, which collaborates with talented artists like NNAMDI and Japanese Breakfast. Their headquarters may be nestled in Bloomington, Indiana, but they proudly maintain offices in Brooklyn, London, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

What Does the New Role Entail?

The Manager of Social Media & Creator Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping the online presence of Secretly Group. The successful candidate will work full-time, 40 hours a week from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday. Importantly, this individual will report to the Senior Director of Digital Marketing and will be responsible for leading social strategy and fan engagement efforts across the United States. But it doesn’t stop there! They’ll also offer consultative support for international projects across the Americas.

A Day in the Life

So, what will a typical day look like? The Manager will focus on crafting and executing strategic social media plans that seamlessly integrate with larger marketing initiatives. This includes overseeing the label’s social presence and guiding artist teams on optimizing their social strategies. The role requires a knack for collaboration as you’ll be teaming up with various departments—think creative teams, ad teams, and marketing departments—to ensure success.

Mentorship is also a key aspect of this position. The incoming Manager will oversee and mentor two Social Media Coordinators to guarantee a smooth execution of campaigns across all label social channels, helping to foster growth and talent within the organization.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative environment. If you’re someone who enjoys bouncing ideas off colleagues and diving into creative discussions, this could be the perfect match for you. While the company has a particular focus on social media strategy, they also value the importance of collaborative partnerships with third-party social consultancies and influencer agencies to maximize campaign reach and effectiveness.
