Downtown Northville is set to welcome a delightful new addition to its lineup of shops: Peace, Love and Little Donuts. This vibrant and retro-styled doughnut shop, known for its delicious mini-doughnuts, will open its doors later this year at 345 E. Cady St.. This location was previously occupied by Mithai and Chai, and many locals are excited about the upcoming sweet treats.
Peace, Love and Little Donuts has gained popularity for its wide range of flavors. Customers can enjoy classics alongside unique creations. Some of the flavors you can expect include:
Owner Kathy Isgro shared how she fell in love with the brand while on vacation. “My kids fell in love, so much so that when my older two graduated from high school, they said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could have those little mini doughnuts at our graduation parties?’” Kathy explained. The idea to bring this beloved doughnut shop to Northville was born from those memorable experiences.
What sets this shop apart is its commitment to freshness and the customer experience. “Customers will have the opportunity to watch the process as each doughnut is made to order in the store,” Kathy elaborated. This “food theater” allows for freshly made doughnuts at any time of the day, as the doughnut maker will be continuously at work.
Additionally, samples will be available so guests can try different varieties or even create a custom doughnut according to their tastes. Kathy also mentioned there will be gluten-friendly and vegan options, catering to various dietary needs based on demand.
Beyond the scrumptious doughnuts, Peace, Love and Little Donuts will serve a variety of coffee drinks and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Kathy, with her background in finance and project management, is excited to integrate into the downtown Northville business community. “We raised our kids in downtown Northville… we think it complements our downtown,” she said.
This doughnut brand started in Pittsburgh back in 2009 and began franchising in 2016. Currently, there are locations in 11 states, with nearby Michigan shops in Ann Arbor, Traverse City, and Portage. A new branch is also set to open soon in Rochester Hills.
Kathy is aiming for a November opening for the Northville location. However, the specific date will depend on the completion of renovations and necessary permits. For those eager to keep track of the progress, updates will be posted on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, under Peace Love and Little Donuts of Northville and @plldnorthville respectively.
As anticipation builds within the Northville community, residents are looking forward to enjoying sweet moments and fresh flavors from the new doughnut shop. This charming addition promises to make downtown Northville even sweeter.
