The Office of Public Relations, Marketing, and Information Services (PRMIS) has recently brought home not just one but an impressive total of seven awards from the 12th annual Education Digital Marketing Awards, a prestigious national competition.
For those who aren’t familiar, the Education Digital Marketing Awards is an esteemed competition that highlights the very best in educational websites, digital content, and various forms of media. All sorts of educational institutions from across the country participate, and this year, the competition saw more than 1,000 entries vying for top honors. Talk about a tough crowd!
Steve Harmon, the Director of TAMIU’s PRMIS, couldn’t have been more thrilled with the outcome. He expressed that these awards serve as a fantastic affirmation of the team’s creativity, drive, innovation, passion, and teamwork. “The creativity and energy this team shows every day really pushes us to discover new and engaging ways to share TAMIU’s mission and story across multiple platforms,” he said.
One of the fun initiatives they launched includes a lively event called “Release the Quacken,” where the campus was filled with hundreds of cheerful rubber ducks, celebrating the university’s growth in student enrollment. Not to mention the vibrant “Dusty’s Glow-Up” campaign, which showcased the university’s brand-new mascot. With creative endeavors like these, it’s no wonder the team has won such accolades!
Harmon also highlighted that these awards are much more than just shiny trophies. They are markers of the team’s commitment to excellence and a call to constantly raise the bar. “It challenges us to keep pushing our creative limits and seek fresh opportunities to tell the university’s story in ways that have an impact,” he explained.
Receiving recognition alongside other top-ranking institutions is no small feat. Harmon shared the excitement among the team when they received the email announcing the awards, leading to some joyous high-fives, both real and virtual. “It’s an exhilarating feeling to have our work ranked nationally, affirming the talent and dedication of our team,” he continued.
The PRMIS team has been fortunate to earn awards across various levels, including regional, state, national, and even international competitions. However, each success motivates them to strive for even greater achievements. Harmon’s enthusiasm was evident as he remarked, “Each award reminds us to aim higher and aim better in telling the wonderful story of TAMIU.”
Assisting Harmon in leading the PRMIS team are several talented professionals who contribute their skills and creativity to the mix. While names are not needed to appreciate their hard work, it’s the collective effort of the team that truly shines through this recognition.
