During an event in Florida organized by Turning Point Action, former US President Donald Trump made the surprising and much debated statement to Christians that they would not have to vote again if they voted for him in the forthcoming November presidential elections.
The ex-President, presently dealing with charges concerning incitement of the 2020 Capitol riots as well as potentially endeavouring to reverse his 2022 election loss, heartily addressed the crowd and promised listeners they wouldn’t have to vote anymore if they elect him back into power.
“Christians, you have to get out and vote. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians. I’m a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote,”
Trump reassured the audience.
Although no direct response was received from Kamala Harris’ campaign on the remarks, Jason Singer, the campaign spokesperson, characterized his overall speech as “bizarre” and “backward-looking”.
Earlier, during his campaign, Trump humorously stated that, if re-elected to power, he desired to play the role of a dictator and shut the southern border with Mexico, later minimizing his comment as a joke.
The campaign scenario was further stirred as Kamala Harris replaced incumbent President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee last week. The introduction of Harris into the race has levelled the field, eliminating Trump’s earlier lead, according to latest opinion polls.
In other significant news, Donald Trump also surprised many by promising to transform the US into the “Crypto Capital of Planet”, and make Bitcoin the “Superpower of World”.
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris, engaged in overcoming Trump’s “wild lies”, has shown that she’s fully prepared to put her “underdog” campaign to the test, come November.
